We're Back

So we haven't fallen off the face of the earth, we are alive and well and ready to share lots of updates!  We have been working on a lot of different projects lately but just haven't had a lot of time to get organized enough to post.  King Silas has turned into a full on toddler and it really has taken me some time to figure this new step in parenthood out.  Some things fall behind and updating is just one of those things.  But, I think I'm adjusted and ready to get going again.

Here's a peek at our to do list we have been working on - one we made Labor Day Weekend and yes we are still working through it, actually I think it just keeps growing.

During this time of adjustment God has been pulling on our heartstrings and remodeling our way of living once again.  Knowing and following God is always exciting as he continues to change and mold our lives.  We truly believe God has been revealing to us that we need to be better givers, specifically to those who are in need.  God's word is clear on how we should take care of others: "For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me." Matthew 25:35-36--- and it has been something we know we need to step up.  I feel compelled to share some of the things that I have learned and that have helped me see how my giving should change.  So that's a little bit of what's to come.

But for today, just a little something to get us started again.  We actually have hung something on our walls (besides the artwork in Silas' room) - two mirrors to be exact.  I know, I know, we're getting crazy with our wall hangings.  The first mirror is the little square mirror redo I did with my niece a few months back.  She helped me paint it that really fun turquoise color and now it hangs perfectly in our little quasi hallway - which we also finished painting finally.

The other mirror is an antique frame that Justin had made into a mirror for me several years back.  It's now in our kitchen and I love it there.  Our laser level really came in handy in hanging these mirrors - especially the larger one.  Probably one of the best little tools ever.

Just a tiny taste of what's been going on.  There might just be a new something hanging above that kitchen table now, something I have been waiting to change forever.  Can't wait to share it with you and lots more!  Have a wonderful week and thanks for checking back in with us!

  1. Glad to hear things are well - I was wondering the other day how you were doing. Looking forward to hearing what God has laid on your hearts re: giving. :)
